My favorite NASA rss sites

So what exactly is an RSS site? Well, RSS is an acronym for Rich Site Summary, which basically means it is a format for delivering web content that is constantly changing and being updated. RSS sites are usually news related sires, webblogs, and many other online applications for anyone to use.

Considering my blog focuses solely on NASA and it’s new findings and updates, I have decided to share 10 of my favorite RSS sites for any viewer to access, along with a brief description. If you are interested, just click on the links provided!

Breaking News

This site focuses on breaking news occurring within NASA and the media coverage released. What’s awesome about this site is the ability to catch up on day to day news. What I like best, is that this rss site organizes information by date and allows me to see what events occurred that day and why they were significant.

Education News

This site focuses more on student progress pertaining to NASA and competitions occurring between schools. I chose to follow this site mainly because it allows me to see what competitions are taking place and the results, when NASA speakers travel to university’s to speak and educate the students, and more so, it allows me to follow up on what experiments and theories students from other university’s are discovering.

Image of the Day

This rss site is my personal favorite. It has daily updates of pictures of past, present, and future events. The picture of the day is also accompanied by a small description regarding what is being shown in the picture and it allows you to get a visual which in my opinion is always great.

International Space Station Reports

This site revolves around the ISS Daily Summary Reports which basically includes all details about the event/mission/theory that was in action. What’s interesting about it is the ability to read up on the successes and failures and see what went wrong and how the engineers plan to fix it. This site is updated constantly and it’s an easy way to access the latest information.

On the Station

The title of this site says it all. It has information regarding space station status and the research set forth. The site focuses on things occurring within the different stations and it’s an easy way to get insight into the discussed station.

Space Station News

This site allows you to access the different launches and mission that are going to occur or are occurring. The site provides information about which mission are going where and how they plan to do so.

Solar System News

This site is definitely one of my favorites. It provides information on when meteors are going to occur, comets, shooting stars, the trip to mars, and all updates regarding our solar system. Information is updated daily and I enjoy the ability to know when astronomical things are taking place.

Universe News

This rss site has all information regarding new findings and the progress of existing missions. This site is a place for NASA updates to be published regarding experiments, new discoveries, and explanations, which is exactly why i like it.

Earth News

The name explains it all. This site pretains soley to planet earth and everything that accompanies it. There are updates about solar energy, our moon, experiments on earth, how we can save our planet, new discoveries from NASA. and breaking news about earth. This site is favorable because you can become educated about what’s going on on this planet within minutes of reading through the posts.

Aeronautics News
http://www.nasa.gov/rss/dyn/aeronautics.rssThis is mainly a future based site. It has postings about new ideas and new technological advances that can be helpful in the future for our universe. I personally like this site because its interesting to see what new ideas are formulating and it gives you insight to our near future.
